Water heater leaks
If your water heater is leaking and flooding your floors you should immediately have a licensed plumber address that. Even a small leak can cause a lot of damage and if not fixed quickly can grow into a larger leak that can result in a very serious and costly problem.
No hot water or inconsistent water temperature
If you have no hot water coming out of the water heater it's probably a sign that your heating element is not working. Call a plumber to check your water heater and replace the heating element.
If you hear noises coming from inside the tank (bangs, creaks, knocks, or whines) it could be the sounds of a deteriorating heating element that is burning out, or it could be the sound of sediment and mineral deposits accumulated on the water tank interior surface. In this case a de-scaling / de-liming or water heater flush procedure is required.
